With incidences of lifestyle related diseases on the rise, sisters and business partners, Busi and Siza took onto a path to learn more about food nutrition. With the current generation being on a nutrition transition craze, they thought the moment was opportune. As is generally known, a big part of lifestyle, is eating habits. It is reported that over 2 billion people in the world do not get much needed nutrients thus affecting their health and life expectancy. It is believed almost a quarter of children under the age of five years face the dreadful challenge of diminishing physical and mental capacities as a result. In the absence of intervention, these children will never get to their full growth potential.
On their quest, the two sisters engaged a whole range of individuals from people living with auto immune disorders to sports people. The journey proved to be an eye opener for both as they learned and discovered what these tiny miraculous seeds could do! Chia seeds are a great repository of Omega 3 fats, fiber and proteins from a plant source, therefore also a good addition to vegans’ and vegetarians’ diets. Nutritionists generally advise on a twice a day intake of 20 grams (1 and a half tablespoon) of chia seeds.
